Lesson 58 - Children and Internet Safety
Sarah: I’m at my wit’s end about my kids and the Internet. Chris: I know exactly what it’s like to be in your shoes. Sarah: Things have gotten out of control these days. Access to inappropriate sites is literally at their fingertips. Chris: I hear they have various programs that block children from these sites. Sarah: But what about all the explicit spam mail they get in their mailbox? I don’t have control over that. Chris: Well, you can get proactive in the home. There is a way to keep an eye on them when you’re at home. Sarah: I guess I could get rid of the computers in their rooms. Chris: You can start by putting these computers in the living or family room. This way, they’re less likely to look at something that’s inappropriate. Sarah: That’s a wonderful suggestion. Chris: If you’re interested in more suggestions, there is a site called, “A parent’s guide to Internet Safety.” Should be enlightening and very helpful.
