Lesson 39 - Going Cross-Country John: Have you ever gone cross-country? Kathy: Yeah. When I was in high school, my parents rented an RV and took us on a road trip for a whole summer. John: What states did you see? Kathy: We went from California, all the way to Massachusetts. We even took that famous highway, Route 66. John: Cool. So what was your favorite state? Kathy: That’s a tough call, but I’ll have to go with Montana. John: What was so great about it? Kathy: Everything. I love the great outdoors and the whole state was breathtaking. John: Did you get a taste of real clam chowder in Boston? Kathy: Did I get a taste? I had it everyday while we were there. John: Oh, I would die for some clam chowder right now. < Key expressions > ■ Have you ever gone cross-country? ■ We even took that famous highway, Route 66. ■ That’s a tough call, but I’ll have to go with Montana. ■ I love the great outdoors and the whole state was breathtaking. < Main dialogue > ■ Have you ever gone cross-country? *cross-country -> going from one side to the other side -> 주로 기차가 아닌 자동차로 하는 국토 횡단을 말한다. cf. -> Have you ever been cross-country?
