The stock market is flirting with the record books.
Almost crossing the lucky 13,000 mark for the first time ever.
It was a fierce battle on Wall Street
between good news and bad news with the good winning the day.
IBM and DuPont announced surprise profits ending the DOW Jones Industrial Average up 34 points.

It’s been some run.
In just six months, the DOW surged 1,000 points.
Quite a triumph in the face of an onslaught of negative housing numbers.
Tuesday, we found out sales of previously owned homes plunged 8.4% in March,
the biggest drop in nearly two decades.
And the sluggish housing market is hurting the backbone of the American economy, consumers.
This week, both General Motors and Target warning that shoppers are holding back.

But don’t push the panic button just yet.
Experts insist the real estate market isn’t in freefall.
“The general pattern is down.
It’s a gradual consistent down.
There’s no crash, there’s no massive collapse and that’s clearly good news.”
In fact, if you live in certain areas of the country like Charlotte, North Carolina,
the pacific northwest or the state of Texas,
housing prices are still on the rise.
