Lesson 46 - Non-Stop In the Morning Kathy: How’s the new job treating you? John: So far so good. The work is demanding but it keeps me on my toes. Kathy: So what’s a typical day like for you? John: I clock into work by 8:00 and grab a cup of joe. Then I look over all the reports from the brokers in New York. Doing that alone takes me the whole morning. Kathy: Sounds like it’s non-stop in the morning. John: Yeah. And I usually squeeze in a meeting with the marketing department before lunch. Kathy: You do have a lot of work cut out for you, don’t you? John: Sure do. In the afternoon, I’m off to meet with clients for a few hours. Kathy: I thought my schedule was hectic. I see it pales in comparison to your job. John: It’s not as bad as it sounds. < Key expressions > ■ The work is demanding but it keeps me on my toes. ■ I usually squeeze in a meeting. ■ You do have a lot of work cut out for you. ■ I see it pales in comparison to your job. < Main dialogue > ■ How’s the new job treating you? -> How is your new job going? * How’s something treating you? = How is it? ex.
